Mission Statement

Horizontal Line

Our Mission....

To create an environment where the Technician, Therapist, and Corpsman can provide the best quality healthcare for men and women of the uniformed services, dependent, and retired as well during peacetime and conflict.

Our Vision....

At Charette Health Care Center, we are the First and Finest.

We are recognized for our superlative service to our most important entity; the customer.  We provide to the public humanitarian services as well as providing the Active Duty customers.  We also on a 24 hour basis, provide our professional staff internally (Charette Health Care Center) and externally the capacity to transport patients over the United States and local.

This is the Navy's teaching hospital where professional development is promoted and interdisciplinary teams are common between divisions.  Every member is treated as a professional and as an integral part of the team.

We continue to improve by promoting Peer Reviews and meeting with other Divisions in their Performance Improvement meetings.

We will continue to pursue the prevention of illness and injury through educational processes for our customers.   One such vehicle is through the Asthma Management Team, which is Command wide , and the Asthma Clinic every Wednesday shared with the Pulmonary Medicine Division.

The Respiratory Therapy Division will continue to improve competency by  remaining on the cutting edge of technology through inservices, annual testing, proving conferences for the staff members locally as well as nationally to attend.

Guiding Principles....

We are the Naval Center, Portsmouth, fully supporting the Armed Forces in optimal health order to be fit to defend this Nation at any time.  We serve to provide that same uniformed serviced member that highest quality of healthcare in the event they are injured and in times of illness.   We plan to exceed expectations of our customers in every area of healthcare.

We will....

Discharge our military and medical duties in a respectful manner.

Accomplish our mission in an environment that is conducive to the highest quality available to our customers forming a mutual trust.

Strive to continually find better ways to perform our duties to the customer, in order to exceed their expectations.

Utilize resources wisely.   By doing so, will reduce costs, reduce waste, and ultimately speed services that are provided.
