Operating Room Services adheres to the standards of perioperative nursing care
prescribed by the policies and procedures of the department which are modeled after the
Association of Operating Room Nurses Standards of Care.
Total of 17 operating rooms and 31,000-sq. ft. for the entire suite. Standard room size
is 400 sq. ft with four rooms measuring 600 sq. ft to accommodate specialty surgical
procedures.
Two rooms equipped with telemedicine capabilities.
Standardization of endoscopic video systems.
Computers in every room with CHCS capability.
Full emergency power capabilities in all 17 rooms.
Naval Medical Center, Portsmouths, Department of Operating Room Services will be
the Perioperative health care provider of choice for all TRICARE patients. Our

Located in the center on the 3rd floor. Coming from the parking garage over
the walk-way, proceed to the main elevators and go to the third floor. When exiting the
elevators turn toward the double doors (east). A glassed-reception area is immediately in
the hallway.
