We have had a busy month in March. Wave 2 group arrived and are acclimated and all the left set- right seat turnovers are done and we are all settling into a daily routine. One of our most important daily routines, which is mandatory for all, is our muster at 0500 for physical training Monday-Friday. If you don’t show, someone goes and gets you out of your bed and we all wait. On Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays we are led by our Leading Petty Officer for 30 - 45 minutes of calisthenics and then a 2 mile run in formation. His feeling is that, “You are only as fast as the slowest person”.  So we start together, stay together and finished together.  If someone falls back, we turn around and pick them up. On Tuesday and Thursdays we are at the gym at 0500 doing ad lib exercises or cardio training.

However, sometimes, when we are tired of the daily routine and need a change, then we play volleyball against each other at 0500. We are all getting in shape, so far as a whole we have lost over 150 lbs and we feel so good about how well we are feeling that we also formed a TMC volleyball team and softball team and compete in tournaments against other units.

We also carried out our first joint Army-Navy MASCAS drill with the 1st MEDBGD.   Evaluators said we did an excellent job and were very impressed. After the drill we all debriefed and some really good ideas were suggested which will prepare us even better for any unfortunate events that may take place. As always, TMC Camp Virginia will uphold our reputation that we are here serve and to provide excellent Navy medicine.
